Physiotherapy

CervikalsyndromIf overactivity and pain in the masticatory muscles is at the forefront of the problem, physiotherapy should be prescribed. This is also ideally suited to stretching the shrunken joint capsules following inflammation of the joint.

The specialist for physical medicine and the physiotherapist do not only concentrate on the craniomandibular system, but consider the patient holistically. Particular attention is paid to the neck and shoulder muscles and the patient's posture and symmetry.

There are various treatment techniques: manual therapy and osteopathy are the most important of these. The use of cold and heat, massage, acupuncture and devices (such as a TENS machine) complete the range of treatments.
